To strengthen the department of applied social sciences, we would like to fill the following position by the 2025/26 winter semester or later Professorship for Psychosocial Counselling (W2) Reference number: BV 1182 We are looking for you: We are looking for an ambitious person (m/f/d) who will teach and supervise students in the development of basic counselling skills and reflective attitudes and psychological concepts in psychosocial contexts.The teaching areas you will represent include the following topics: Theories and models of psychosocial counselling Psychological foundations and in-depth knowledge Therapeutic relationship and counselling skills Social work theory of action with a focus on psychosocial counselling Fields of practice and areas of application of psychosocial counselling in social work Relevant practical experience, in particular in-depth experience in the various counselling contexts of social work, is expected.Research experience in the field of denomination is desirable.The teaching area should be represented as broadly as possible, in particular in the undergraduate degree programs in social work as well as in the other degree programs of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and the Munich University of Applied Sciences.You have a university degree in psychology, preferably with recognized additional relevant counselling or therapy training.Terms and expectations If necessary, you might teach courses from related fields in other departments.Your knowledge of German is sufficient for teaching and participating in the self-administration of the department.You are willing and able to offer courses in English and are fluent in German.You are constantly developing your didactic skills and are motivated to use new teaching methods, innovative teaching technologies and online teaching.You actively contribute to the development of your field of research, the internationalisation of the department and the self-administration of the university.In addition, you are engaged in applied research projects, and in the area of knowledge and technology transfer.Requirements University degree Teaching skills, which you will demonstrate in trial classes, and in other ways Special aptitude for scientific work, which is proven by a doctorate or by an expert opinion certifying academic achievements equivalent to a doctorate Special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in the course of at least five years of work experience, gained after obtaining a university degree and of which at least three years must have been practised outside of the academic sector.In special cases, work experience outside of the academic sector can be provided by proving that a significant part of your work was carried out in cooperation between the university and non-academic partners over a period of at least five years.Professional gender equality is one of our core values, which is why we seek to hire more women, especially in the sciences.We therefore explicitly encourage women to apply.Those who are not yet 52 years old can be appointed as civil servants, otherwise they will be employed under a private law contract.Severely disabled applicants will be given preference in the case of otherwise equal suitability, qualifications and professional performance.Work at a future-oriented university You can expect a lively and creative environment for teaching, research and transfer, which you can actively help to shape.Munich University of Applied Sciences will support you with numerous services (and projects).You can organise your work flexibly.We offer various opportunities for childcare such as day nursery and kindergarten as well as a family service.We're looking forward to meeting you!
