PhD - Computational Neuroimaging

We are looking for a doctoral Researcher in Computational Neuroimaging with focus on Neuroimaging Genetics and Transcriptomics to join the research group of Prof. Dr. Christine Ecker in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Goethe University Hospital in Frankfurt am Main.

The successful applicant will be involved in the transregional collaborative research grant (TRR 379) «Neurobiology of Aggression - a Transdiagnostic Approach in Mental Health Disorders», funded by the DFG.

Your role

Conduct state-of-the-art research into the molecular underpinnings of aggression in mental health conditions and work as part of the DFG-funded TRR 379 on Aggression in Mental Health Conditions ( https://www.trr379.de ) combining basic research with clinical applications.

Develop database and novel analytical frameworks for integrating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data with genetic and transcriptomic data to stratify mental health conditions.
Apply techniques to existing and newly acquired large-scale cohorts (clinical and non-clinical) to develop personalized medicine approaches.

Who you are

Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Computational Neuroscience
Strong programming skills in R, C++, Python, or MATLAB
Interest in big data analytics
Knowledge in machine learning, MRI data analysis, or expertise in conducting genetic analyses is of advantage
Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
